Online guitar lessons?
I have a guitar, and really want to learn how to play, but I have searched and searched, and can't find any guitar teachers in my area My friend mentioned that he takes lessons on YouTube, so I was wondering if these are any good. I dont want to learn rock and roll or anything, just chords, kind of like country I guess? So my questions are Do online lessons work?Do you have any suggestions as to what videos to use from YouTube or another site? Any suggestions for a beginning guitar player?

How should I go about quitting my guitar lessons?
I have been taking guitar lessons with the same teacher for four years. The lessons are $15 a week for a half hour lesson and at this point I really feel like the lesson are becoming a waste of my time and money and that being self taught would help my playing. I also don't like getting up at 10am every Saturday morning. I really appreciate the teacher and don't want him to be offended by my decision. How should I go about telling him I want to quit?

Which will make me a better performer, voice lessons or guitar lessons?
I've been writing songs for years as an acoustic guitarist singer songwriter. Now I'm finding that as my songwriting advances, I'm struggling to perform my songs well.If you've ever been in the same position and decided to take guitar or voice lessons, I'd like to hear about your experience. On one hand, I'm not a good singer at all, so I think I have more potential for improvement with voice lessons. A little formal training would likely take me from being a passable singer to an OK singer.On the other hand, there's a ton I would like to learn on guitar. I'm good at playing 1st position chords and fingerstyle struming, and I can do some fingerpicking. But I would love to start playing up the neck, improve my fingerpicking, and learn flat picking.So what do you think? Should I try to become a decent singer who's also decent at guitar, passable singer who's good at guitar?

I really want to learn piano but i dont hav a piano at home and i heard lessons are pretty expensive.....guitar would b cool too and i would b able to practice at home cuz i have one.......which do u think would b better?oh and also i hav crooked fingers my dad has them and they got passed down to me ..... soooo ya...which would b better?i learn at an ok pace..

Should I stop taking guitar lessons?
Well I really don't want to continue taking lessons but I wanna continue playing guitar.....And the reason is of course the teacher.He always yells at me whenever I'm doing something wrong and he just makes me hate going to the guitar lesson . I feel like I can't express myself when playing guitar and that he has limited my playing by making me do some things the way he wants.For example strumming . I don't think there's only one way to strum is there? Everytime I have guitar lessons I get really nervous and anxious thinking that he'll find something to correct in everything I do and it really brings me down.I was about to cry because I didn't get what he was talking about and he was yelling at me the other day. So yeah that's why I just wanna stop taking guitar lessons. I really do LOVE playing guitar and I think I can teach myself since I know the basics chords,note scales,barre chords,fingerpicking . All I want is to just enjoy it and be free to express myself through it. Can someone tell me what to do?Am I right?Should I just stop taking lessons?
