Where's a good place for online piano lessons?
I want to learn how to play so badly I'd go to a tutor, but I'd prefer to learn with no one watching me.
What are some good begineer piano lessons/drills?
I can play a few songs but that's only because I spent a lot of time getting my left hand down. I'm pretty bad at reading bass clef and I am looking to get some drills to make it easier for me to sight read music. I can read treble fairly well as I played violin for some time, but trying to pick up on reading sheet music 5 years after I've stopped is hard, especially since I don't know bass clef that well and most song's left hand parts are multi note. To give some reference, I've been able to play through Fur Elise, The Entertainer, and some Beatles songs by going through the song, measure by measure note by note, memorizing how my hands should go. Thanks
I've finished piano lessons but i want to keep playing?
i graduated from ABRSM's grade eight piano this january i'm a junior in high school and still looooves playing the piano. i've decided to stop learning with an instructor and go on to the diploma level which i heard is craaaaazy hard so i was wondering what opportunities are available for me to continue and show my love for the piano through community recitals, competitions possible without a piano teacher? etc. I live in the northern virginia region.
I need piano lessons, would it be a good idea to ask the school's band teacher?
I don't think he personally would be willing because he's busy as it is, as a high school teacher and all, but I really can't find anything. I figured if anyone knew anyone that teaches, he would. I already can play well, but I missed the basics, and I need better practice skills and such. Should I go up to him and ask him one day? Like, " I was just wondering if you knew anyone, since your a music teacher and all, that gives piano lessons. I didn't know who else to ask." Would this be polite? And if I can't find him big school Should I just ask the office to give him a note, you think? I'm so conflicted...Thanks
What are some tips for teaching piano lessons?
I'm about to start teaching piano lessons to a kid around the block. Yes, we're friends already. He is 10 years old, and doesn't like sitting still for long. He always wants to show me his new toys and such. I will be giving him a 30 minute lesson once a week. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep him interested in the piano and how to teach him? He has never played before, so it will be from the very beginning of teaching. Thanks everyone

Where can I go for singing, guitar, and piano lessons in California.?
I want to learn how to sing better sing from my diaphragm, I want to play the electric and acoustic guitar, and I want to learn how to play the piano keyboard. Is their any places I could go in Long beach,Lake wood Torrance places around those areas I listed maybe a tad bit further if necessary. People have always told me I sang amazing as a child I sung loud enough for a whole church to hear me but even though people say they don't think I need the lessons I feel I do because I can't sing from my diaphragm. I can hit high notes but it takes a lot out of me to do so. I sing soprano, alto and I dabble a bit in mezzo soprano. I also want to hit low notes like Beyonce does in Halo. My genre of singing is very alternative I sing almost anything. I can sing songs from singers such as Lana del rey to Sarah Bareilles Adele Jessie J Jojo Beyonce etc. But I want to sing those songs without harming my throat.I want to learn how to play my acoustic electric guitar and my electric guitar and play any kind of song without restrictions. How do you think taylor swift and miley cyrus take care of their hands? I've heard you develop calluses when you play the guitar but I never see it on their finger tips I would like to learn how to play the piano as well so that I can play my keyboard at home I want to be able to play any song that I here. Can anyone help me out I hope that was a good description of everything.
Is fifteen too old to start piano lessons?
I'm fifteen and I love music, I absolutely love singing and I write songs. I've always wanted to play an instrument but my parents never had to money to spend on lessons. My mom said she is actually considering it now and I decided I want to play piano. But is 15 too old to start? My step sister started when she was 4 and I'm a little jealous because I would loved to have that long of expierence. Should I go for it or no?
Are 30 minute piano lessons worth it for me?
First of all, this is besides the point my new teacher charges $30 for a half hour. He's a Julliard graduate, and also attended the Eastman School of Music and has played piano for over 50 years. Do you think its worth it the money? My previous teacher charged significantly less. Anyway, I have a piano lesson each week for a half hour. I know i definitely accomplish more in my 30 minute lesson then 45mins with my previous piano teacher but I feel that 30 minutes a week may be too short to get a ton of work done. I'm training to attend Juilliard or a few other music conservatories and I'm not sure if its worth just having a thirty minute lesson a week or is that too short? Would you recommend longer lessons? Any thoughts are appreciated.Yes, i practice several hours a day. I feel that i get a significant amount of information and instruction from him during this half hour so i guess it is worth it. He was, according to him, very impressed with how i played and thinks i have to skill necessary to make it but just have to improve it even more and he feels he can provide the extra instruction for me to reach my goal. So all in all, i guess its worth it. Thanks for all your answers
I'm sixteen, and starting to give piano lessons.?
I live in a very rural area, the price I paid my piano teacher for years was $10 a half hour. Because I'm only sixteen, I'm technically not qualified to give lessons, so of course I can't ask my students for that much... I was thinking about doing my lessons for $7 a half hour. What do you think, guys? If you were my students, pr parents of my students, would you think this is too much for a sixteen year old teacher in high school to ask? I will also be going to my student's houses to give lessons. or. Oops.

Can I become an accomplished pianist without piano lessons?
I think it's quite possible. I've been playing for about 3 years with no lessons, making little by little progress. I feel that if I determine and attach myself to it i will become an accomplished pianist. I don't have the money for lessons. But I've been learning online, I figure that I will never be as good as someone who has been taking lessons for a great portion of their life. I just want to know do you think it's possible. I love the piano, and whenever I hear a beautiful piece, I become overwhelmed. Chills go throughout my body, it's very hard to explain but maybe you have felt this too? I just am really determined and I want to know if you think it is possible. Thanks
I hate taking piano lessons! Help?
I'm 15. I've been playing the piano for 11 years. I never enjoyed it. Well, I did for a little while when I first started, but it's been so long that I just really don't like it anymore. I have to say, my main reason why is because it's gotten so boring. My piano teacher only gives me 14 page classical songs by like Beethoven and I hate hate HATE classical music It's so long and boring And to add to that, if I make one single mess up, my teacher screams at me like theres no tomorrow. I swear, she adds a little cussing in Russian too.. I've told my parents this MANY times. But they just shrug and continue to force me to go. That's probably another reason why I hate it? I've always been forced to play the piano. Honestly, I don't hate the instrument itself. I hate that I'm being forced to learn it. Forced to play stupid boring classical songs. sorry if you love classical music... I'd rather be making up my own songs on the piano. I even tried to ask my parents to switch from piano to guitar. Because I have always found interest in the guitar. But they don't allow it.. I don't get it. They know that even if I stop taking lessons, I will still play the piano. They know that They also know that music is a part of my life. I started learning guitar on my own a while ago and now I play it..sort of. So they know that if I stop learning, I won't stop playing. So I don't get it. Why won't they let me stop taking lessons? After all, they always complain about how much it's costing them...
